about the event

Time to value the Pagadi

Lokmat Sarpanch Awards 2024 are the brainchild of Lokmat, a print and digital news-media company that publishes in the languages of Marathi, Hindi, and English, and possesses a readership of over 22 Million people. Lokmat is the most widely read print news agency in the state.

The Award will encompass all 36 districts of Maharashtra, divided into 18 regions of the state. The Lokmat Sarpanch Awards winner will be chosen by a core committee. By doing so, we aim to bring together the rural populace – regardless of their vocational background (everyone from fruit farmers to dairy farmers are welcome) or the level of their participation in the rural economy.

People can nominate their Sarpanch from 18 regions of Maharashtra. The finalists will be invited for the District Finale event, and the Mega Finale will happen at Mumbai.

The event is crafted to create a platform for the Sarpanches, who play a significant part in the economic prowess of Maharashtra. The event will be host to conversations with notable dignitaries who will address the opportunities that are present in and the social issues that are endemic to the villages of Maharashtra.

Experts from various fields and sponsorships will be approachable at district events to share their knowledge and talk about the plans and initiatives of Sarpanches from different villages.
